HISTORIC COMPETITION TOURING / GTS

Historic Competition Touring / GTS periods E-H cars follow the international FIA appendix K rules for such cars. The car must be homologated as either touring car or GT-car in its period. The car may the race prepared, but the rules limit the modifications only as used in period for a such car model. All cars must use racing tyres from their original period, which ensures that they handle correctly also in this respect. Only exception to the period specification are the safety equipment, which must be according to the modern standards.

In the HRF races, cars are divided to classes according to their period and cylinder capacity as follows:

Periods E-F (1.1.1947-31.12.1965):

  • F/A: over 1800cc
  • F/B: up to 1800cc
  • F/C: up to 1600cc
  • F/D: up to 1300cc

Period G (1.1.1966-31.12.1971):

  • G/A: over 1300cc
  • G/D: up to 1300cc

Period H (1.1.1972-31.12.1976):

  • H: all capacities

Majority of these cars in Finland are from the period F, but also the periods G and H are growing.




HISTORIC TOURING/GT

Historic Touring/GT -cars are series production cars according to the "group 1" of their period. Only the technical specification according to their basic homologation is allowed. In practice this means that the cars are very closely as they left the factory. However, the safety equipment must follow the modern standards also in these cars.

In the HRF races there is an own class for period G and H (1.1.1966-31.12.1976) Touring/GT-cars:
