HISTORIC GRAND RACE 2004
The 2004 Historic Grand Race will take place at the Ahvenisto race track in Hämeenlinna on the 28 th and 29 th of August in 2004. This traditional race for historic cars and club classes will feature more than ten race starts for various classes in addition to practice and qualifying sessions for the same. Ahvenisto is centrally located in Southern Finland and provides phenomenal and fitting surroundings and scenery for this historic-oriented speed event. It is an important race in the Scandinavian racing calendar and more than 200 competitors are expected including seasoned and well-known Finnish drivers and a significant number of Swedish enthusiasts who once again bring their fine historic cars to the race.
Saturday, August 28 th is the official practice and qualifying for all classes starting at 9.00 a.m.
Sunday, August 29 th is racing for all classes starting at 10.00 a.m.
Tickets are being sold at the spectator area gate (see map). Saturday only tickets cost 5 euros, Sunday only tickets cost 8 euros and a combined both days ticket costs 10 euros. Minors under 12 have free admission.

Ahvenisto is located at the west side of Hämeenlinna and is accessible from both directions of the Helsinki-Tampere motorway with appropriate signs for the exit. The track was built in 1967. It is 2870 meters long and 9-12 meters wide. It has altitude variation of 32 meters total, the highest points being about 120 meters from sea level.

Race entries are to be in by August 13, 2004, by 18.00 o’clock (6.00 p.m.). Entries should be mailed to: Historic Race Finland r.y., c/o Jari Ylirautalahti, Trillakatu 4 C 52, 02610 ESPOO, FINLAND or faxed to: 050-832-09477 or by web-site entry form from link:ilmoittautumislomake. Only entries received by due date will be accepted. Entries shall contain the complete information requested. Late entries can be accepted by the Race Director if he finds the reason to be valid. The race organizer shall have the right to select the competitors from the entries presented. The race office will be open as follows: Friday the 27 th of August from 18.00.20.00. Saturday the 28 th 8.30-16.00.
